Offer the full 5 sessions if the person is to see a psychiatrist - Ruth has a psychiatrist for #291's as indicated. You'll receive updates in the usual TCA ways including Mx monitoring & reviews. The psychiatrist will also send their report to you & to me.
Medicare doesn't support telehealth for nurses. Medicare doesn't support face to face nursing work for MH care beyond 4 sessions a year - go figure. Please consider using CMHNs for MHcare and support our endeavours to become recognised by Medicare. Until medicare catches up, this has to be a user pays service once the TCA is expired.
Ruth has 50,000+hrs clinical experience in MH, is an RN, RPN & CMHN too, so you can trust her experience! She did her Masters degree in PTSD, & as a CMHN she does 150hrs per CPD cycle (down from 300hrs pre-Covid). She's also a psychotherapist & provides therapy so you have all aspects of MH Care covered for a confident referral. That's peace of mind. And I'll keep you updated on any clinical changes in the usual doctor-nurse relationship.
